Nina is a real-life hiking dog who lives in New Hampshire with her “squirrel” friend Beth! Nina was a homeless puppy who survived when Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico in 2017. She was rescued, and Beth adopted her in 2018. The adoption agency said that Nina would never be a good hiking dog because of her size and history of living at the beach. But in the last seven years, Nina and Beth have hiked all forty-eight of the highest mountains in New Hampshire together. When she is not climbing mountains with Nina, Beth is an artist, a wife, and a mother to three young children.
