Stephanie Duncan‐Peters was born in New York City. Her father was a member of the United States Foreign Service, so she lived in many countries, including Libya, Finland, Sweden, and India. Eventually, she returned to the United States, where she now lives in Maryland.
After high school, Stephanie attended Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Her political science course inspired her to pursue a career as a lawyer. She went on to The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, for her law degree before becoming a lawyer and then a judge. After being appointed by the president of the United States and confirmed by the Senate, Stephanie became a judge on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
During her tenure on the Superior Court, she also wrote a few children’s books, which she is eager to share with young readers.
